This is the fifth vintage of a tiny production Clare Valley shiraz, made by Grosset, and enhanced by a touch of nero d’avola. This is a revelation, a leap forward from previous vintages. It has the hallmarks of cool Clare Valley shiraz – the elegance and plush fleshiness without the power and density of warm climate shiraz.
It’s delightfully perfumed – black berry, juicy brambles – medium-bodied, fleshy, fresh and vibrant, even juicy blackberry, succulent black cherry flavours before a finish that is supple and long. The 2018 ‘Nereus’ is a pristine shiraz of impressive quality.  Peter Forrestal
