An impressive vintage of this long-established favourite. There are riotous aromatics of brambles, briar and blackberries yet with lively red cherry and redcurrant flavours. It is soft, round, fleshy; medium-bodied yet intense, promising depth of flavour, wonderful intensity and pleasing length, encouraged by its soft yet noticeable tannins. Containing a clone known as ‘115’, it is not surprising that the wine has more weight and more brambly characters. Seductive - its moderate intensity builds in the glass.
