Grosset Pinot Noir 2018

For more than twenty-five years sourced from the cool Piccadilly Valley, Grosset Pinot Noir beautifully fits into that ‘special’ category of bright, complex, uplifting and pristine pinot noir.

At its finest pinot noir is a textural wine. From the first mouthful to the last, the Grosset Pinot Noir 2018 exemplifies this, hand harvested, foot plunged day and night, matured in French oak. It is beguiling, intense and delicious it has marvellous concentration, delightful mouth-feel with mulberry and red currant flavours that linger.
The finish is crisp and fine, pure and long and enhanced by bright natural acidity and soft, silky tannins.

Reviews:

Jane Faulkner, Halliday Wine Companion 2021, 1 August 2020
Ah, the perfume. Heady with florals, wild strawberries, morello cherries and aromas of humus/forest floor, it is possible to spend more time inhaling than tasting. The palate doesn’t disappoint even if the bouquet is far more appealing. More time needed for the pronounced acidity and raspy tannins to settle around the core of tangy-juicy fruit. 95 points.

Stuart Knox, The Real Review, March 2020
Hints of rosemary and red cherry, tightly-wound red fruits unfurl across the tongue, with a tension brought by well-finessed acid. A finer style that will take time to open in the glass but rewards that patience. 95 Points.
