Grosset Piccadilly Chardonnay 2013

Adelaide Hills – Only 500 dozen produced

The Grosset Piccadilly Chardonnay 2013 is gently fragrant with hints of cedar and grapefruit citrus. On the palate, it is wonderfully viscous, rich, concentrated and powerful with its tight, linear structure driving the tangy flavours – white peach, nectarine, candied grapefruit – towards a finish which zings with natural acidity and lingers. At present, it’s fresh, youthful and vibrant with primary flavours neatly balanced by well-integrated cedary oak.

Tony Love, The Advertiser ‘SA Weekend’ June 2015

The Grosset 2013 Piccadilly is a luxury expression designed to last for many years. It’s very much about lively acidity in the fruit with a crisp, citrus twang, but wait, look harder and you’ll see amazing power and energy in the palate, the purity and punch in the wine exhilarating. Delicious now, better in five years.

‘Winewise Magazine’ 8 December 2014

…This is an absolutely seamless chardonnay packed with white peach flavour supported by subtle nougat complexity. It’s a delicious drink now, and, while it is likely to improve, we see nothing wrong with enjoying it right away.

Huon Hooke ‘Gourmet Traveller Wine’ Apr/May 2015

From its light colour to its taut palate, this is loaded with promise for the future. Cashew and cedar notes in the bouquet, plus passion-fruit and grapefruit. It’s lean, yet intense in the mouth with a very long, lingering finish. 91 Points.

Mike Bennie ‘WBM’ February 2015

Recent releases of Grosset’s non-riesling wines have not been outshone by their more famed stablemates. This again shows deft touch with tight, fine, flinty, light juiciness and a racy feel that comes from pristine fruit flavours and judicious oak. Super. 94 Points.
