Our eleventh release. 55% Shiraz, 45% Nero d’Avola, grown at Grosset Rockwood Vineyard (certified biodynamic) on ancient red rock. Hand harvested, indigenous yeast fermentation, aged in French oak, no fining. The Shiraz clone ‘Tahbilk’ — loose-bunched, perfumed and fleshy — brings elegance and lift, perfectly suited to this blend. The result is fresh and modern — dark cherry, blackberry and spice. Estate grown at Grosset Rockwood Vineyard in the Clare Valley (A-Grade Certified Organic and Biodynamic).

Matured in French oak barriques (45% new) for 18 months.

The 2024 Nereus comprises a blend of Shiraz and Nero d'Avola and is typically perfumed with rose petals and raspberry compote, graphite, asphalt and blueberries. In the mouth, the wine is plush, silky and vibrant. The tannins are weighted to the back palate. The front feels silky and almost slippery, while the finish is structural and savory. This is very good.

A plush and lush red wine, all red and black cherry fruitiness, with licks of salted licorice, choc-mint, clove, dried rosemary, a touch of saltbush and truffle. The texture is immediately appealing and yet reveals a small tell of fine, silty tannin through the conclusion. Easy drinking in style, a sumptuous red of vibrancy and character.
