…European winemaking approach has brought out the best expression.

$49.00

Riesling grown biodynamically at Grosset Rockwood Vineyard (Watervale sub-region), established in 2001 (25 years old).

Hand harvested with no fining. A 300-metre corridor of hard red rock, with poor orange-red topsoil, seemed an unlikely home for riesling. Jeff believed in its potential. In this case, a more European winemaking approach has brought out the best expression.

Pretty and floral on the nose, this seventeenth vintage from Rockwood Vineyard showcases the European-style expression, a subtle yet enticing generosity. Kaffir lime and pink grapefruit emerge with elegant citrus purity. Delicious and textural, balanced by a building crispness through the finish.

Unfined- vegan and vegetarian friendly

Release: September 1st, 2026

The off-dry riesling showing its mettle and pluck. Slippery texture, cool interiors of cucumber and lime in mineral water, a lick of honey on lemon, a chalky presence in texture making things more interesting, too. It's a little diffuse in terms of concentration, rarely seen in Grosset riesling terms, though the style may dictate a little swish and wash to counter gentle sugary elements. Pleasing drinking.
