Here, cooler Clare Valley shiraz is complemented by the inclusion of nero d’avola. In 2016, there are coal black, brooding, dark berry aromatics that are a touch wild, even untamed. The flavours are of blackberry and black cherry and the wine shows power with restraint, a fleshy almost velvety texture, and firmish tannins which add structure without detracting from its immediate appeal.
