James Halliday

Estate-grown, and 100% free run juice. The lime blossom perfume of the bouquet sets the scene for a palate of precision and linear power, crisp acidity drawing out the long, lingering finish and aftertaste. Lime, lemon and apple all add their part. Will develop gloriously.

Grosset Polish Hill is always a supremely elegant, powerful wine with a proven track record of graceful ageing in the cellar, and a release such as this is the foundation upon which that reputation is built. This is concentrated, structured and long, with jasmine tea, saffron, lemon pith, aniseed, fennel flower, green apple skins and white pepper – all of which colour in the background for the lime flesh and Clare volume of flavour. Brilliant. Drink it now or cellar it as you normally would – it is sensational.

A desperately pristine Polish Hill of crystalline purity and unnerving endurance. All the textbook hallmarks of Polish hill are delivered with heightened precision and brilliant concentration. It is set to go down with the greats under this prized label.

The Wine Collective

This is the benchmark for all Australian Riesling. There, we said it. Geoffrey Grosset is an unbelievably talented winemaker and his skills with the Riesling grape are undeniable. He has raised the status of Aussie Riesling to one that competes comfortably on the world stage. This most recent release of this iconic wine is a taut, steely, bone dry wine of incredible intensity. One of the very best you’ll ever try.

Very light-yellow colour with a trace of green in the tint. The aroma is ethereal and perfumed, summoning lime leaf and lemon zest, the palate adding a touch of baked lemon pudding, while the finish is long and full and underlined by a trace of grip which adds structure. A powerful young riesling, and very stylish.

Jeff Grosset’s Polish Hill is consistently Australia’s finest riesling; steely and potentially long-lived. Vibrant layered lime and grapefruit notes and brisk mineral acidity for which the wine is known, but is a little more approachable in its youth. Organic and biodynamic certified throughout the process, this would be delicious paired with pan-fried garfish or King George whiting.
