2011 Vintage

Grosset Semillon Sauvignon Blanc

The Grosset Semillon Sauvignon Blanc is a classic blend that, with its vibrant fruit flavours and trademark dry finish, is a very appealing accompaniment to a range of foods.

Grosset Semillon Sauvignon Blanc 2011

This is the twenty first vintage of the unique Grosset blend of Clare Valley semillon (70%) and Adelaide Hills sauvignon blanc (30%). It is considered by many to be one of the best expressions of this style produced in Australia and by West Australians as the only credible example of the semillon sauvignon blanc blend made outside that state. Since Grosset declared the 2008 vintage his best ever, he’s had three cracker vintages of the wine.

While it’s uber-tight at the moment, powerful, intense and fruity yet restrained and almost coiled, there’s white flower fragrances, a hint of lavender, expressive nectarine, guava and white peach flavours that are pristine, taut and crunchy. It needs a little time to settle but will bring much delight to those who love its style, swanky tanginess and the crisp, dry finish that tingles and thrills.

Cellaring Guide: Up to 5 years, more a ‘drink-now’ style of wine.

The 2011 Grosset Semillon Sauvignon Blanc was released 1 August 2011.
